Baroque

Italian Baroque, a dramatic and emotive artistic style that emerged in 17th-century Italy, is known for its bold use of color, light, and shadow—often influenced by the Roman Catholic Church. Iconic works such as Caravaggio’s The Calling of St. Matthew and Bernini’s The Ecstasy of St. Teresa exemplify the movement’s theatrical intensity and emotional depth. At Nwtiques in London, this powerful legacy is celebrated through a curated selection of authentic Baroque furniture and sculpture, each piece handcrafted with intricate detail and rich ornamentation. From elaborately carved tables and chairs to expressive statues and busts, their collection reflects the grandeur and craftsmanship of the era, offering timeless statement pieces that bring Baroque opulence to contemporary interiors.
